Knights with the helping hand
By Megan Hartman

Knights had the helping hand for the annual blood drive on Tuesday. Two-Hour delays are becoming the students’ best friends with all the snow that we wished would have been here for a white Christmas. Exams are right around the corner for Crestview students. Knight Vision places second at Southern Wells with two members getting special awards. The varsity boys added another win to their record and the varsity girl are preparing for a road trip. Crestview students and staff are coming together for a student who lost her house in a fire during break to raise money.
Two-Hour delays are starting to become a regular for the students at Crestview. Last week 4 out of 5 days’ students had a couple hours to sleep in due to icy roads and cold temperatures. On Thursday, school was cancelled because of sub-zero temperatures. This Monday students were able to enjoy an extended weekend due to weather as well.
The first semester is slowly coming to a close with exams on the way. Next week, students get Monday off for Martin Luther King Day and then it’s getting to work on exams. “Exams really snuck up on us and showing us that we are almost done with our last year of high school.” said senior Reghan Waltmire
The Lady Knights varsity team beat the Continental Pirates Monday evening. They welcome the Thunderbirds tonight at the Ray Etzler Gymnasium. The Lady Knights then go on a road trip where they were invited to Classic in the Country. They will play division 3 Ironton Lady Tigers at Berlin Hiland High School an hour south of Columbus. In varsity boy action, they defeated the Jefferson Wildcats last Friday in NWC action to improve their record to 6-3.
It was a very successful weekend for Knight Vision and jazz band. In class C for their show “Kings, queens in a land of dreams” they placed second. Special awards went out to senior Bella Chorvas for getting first place in the solo competition and sophomore Sydney Bowen got best performer. “Our performance at Southern Wells I felt it was one of our best. I was very shocked to get the best performance award because we have so many great performers,” sophomore Sydney Bowen said.
Crestview students are coming together to help a sophomore student whose house and two cars were lost in a fire over Christmas break. The student council has decided to put together A Walk for Bailey during both lunches for the Junior High and High School. Each student who participates will donate $3 and will walk around the gym throughout the lunch period. “It feels great to see everyone helping out a family in need when times get tough. I love having these walks because it brings us closer as a school and it is a huge help to the family.” said student council president Austin Cunningham.
