The boys had a tough weekend losing Friday night to the Bearcats 54-40 but came back on Saturday to beat Hicksville 67-42 for a non-conference win. “We made our shots the second game, we played better defense, and we played better as a whole team,” said Conner Lautzenheiser. The theme for the Hicksville game was ‘dress like a Cowboy’. Tomorrow the boys will be playing at Allen East, and then Saturday they will be playing at Wayne Trace.

It’s been FCCLA week this week. FCCLA has made this week a little more amusing and fun for everyone. On Monday they passed out hearts to everyone to give to each other, and then on Tuesday they held a cupcake decorating contest. There was a breakfast for staff on Wednesday, and today they will be putting baby pictures of the teachers out for everyone to see for their own version of “Throwback Thursday.” Then tomorrow they will be selling candy grams for all the students to send their valentine a note anonymously. “FCCLA week is fun.  We got to pass out hearts and candy grams, and have a cupcake decorating contest. My favorite was the hearts,” said Brady Guest.

The girls’ basketball team is still on a roll after beating Spencerville last Thursday 51-17. They have been dominating the other teams lately and are now starting tournament as the number one seed. “I think we will do well, we just have to stay focused and play like we have as a team,” said Kennis Mercer. The girls will be playing Allen East tonight at home looking for another victory.
