Van Wert K of C to host Lenten Fish Frys

The Knights of Columbus, Van Wert Council 6034, is hosting its annual Lenten Fish Frys. The meals will be served beginning this Friday through March 27 from 5-7 p.m. at the K of C Hall, 425 Woodland Ave.
The “all you can eat” fish dinners include Alaskan pollock fish, baked potato or french fries, a vegetable, cole slaw, and a drink. The cost is $8 ($7 for seniors). A kids’ menu is also available that includes macaroni and cheese, a hot dog, vegetable, and drink for $4.
Desserts are also available for a freewill donation. Proceeds from the desserts will benefit the St. Vincent DePaul Society, a Catholic organization that benefits the less fortunate in the community. The dinners will be dine in or carryout.
The Knights of Columbus is an international non-profit Catholic fraternal organization dedicated to the service of mankind. Council 6034 has dedicated the six Lenten Fish Frys to various community organizations and causes, to which a $1 of each meal will be set aside. The February 20 dinner will benefit St. Mary’s Church Digital Piano Fund; February 27, the Van Wert Special Olympics; March 6, Van Wert County Cooperative Food Bank; March 13, Van Wert Youth Baseball and Bowling; March 20, the Pregnancy Life Center, March 27, the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
In 2014, Council 6034 of the Knights of Columbus donated over $6,600 to community, church, culture of life and youth activities. The Brother Knights also provided almost 8,000 hours of volunteer service to the community and church. All are invited to enjoy a great meal and help support many deserving organizations and causes in the community.
