James A. Johnson

James A. Johnson, 69, of Middle Point, died at 8:20 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Lima Manor, after spending seven months at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, the Cleveland Clinic and Kindred Hospital in Lima, following complications from surgery.

He was born March 22, 1945, in Massillon, the son of the late Albert and Gladys (Rodocker) Johnson, who both preceded him in death. On April 6, 1965, he married Nancy D. (Flory) Johnson, who survives in Middle Point.

Other survivors include a son, Michael Johnson of Venedocia; three daughters, Jennifer Johnson of Wooster, Tammy Johnson of Van Wert and Laura Johnson of Middle Point; one brother, John (Karen) Johnson of York, Pennsylvania; and three granddaughters.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Tim Owens officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery in rural Van Wert County.

Calling hours are from 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 13, and an hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: Van Wert Special Olympics or Middle Point United Methodist Church.
