Dr. Douglas Neil Holman

Dr. Douglas Neil Holman, 70, of Van Wert, died at 4:15 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2015, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.

He was born September 17, 1944, in Defiance, the son of Virgil and Emma (Kennedy) Holman, who both preceded him in death. On December 10, 2000, he married Donna (Kyle) Holman, who survives in Van Wert.

Survivors include a daughter, Lori (Jason) Zavitz of Maitland, Florida; one son, James H. (Dawn) Holman of Fort Wayne, Indiana; two sisters, Datha Thord and Bonnie (Bob) Warncke, both of Defiance; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 19, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. William C. Haggis II officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
