Prayer Breakfast speaker announced

The YMCA of Van Wert County would like to invite local residents to attend the annual YMCA Good Friday Prayer Breakfast on Friday, April 22, at 7 a.m. at Willow Bend Country Club. Tickets are available at the Van Wert YMCA for $7 each.

This year’s featured speaker is Robert T. Brubaker II, who will tell of his amazing, inspirational story of how, on the weekend of June 23, 2005, he and his family were on a weeklong bicycle trip sponsored by GOBA (Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure) when he suffered a stroke that left him paralyzed on his left side.  After months of hospitals and rehab, Brubaker returned home and attempted to go back to work — only to discover that the brain damage from his stroke was too extensive and his retention rate was too low to continue working.  Every day since his stroke, he has had many mental, physical and emotional struggles. He has had to learn to walk again, but still has a noticeable limp and exhaustion.

Attend the Prayer Breakfast on April 22 and hear more details of the story and how he deals with his struggles and continues to look at life in a positive light.
