Camera Club will look at “Seasons”

Seasons will be the theme for competition in prints and slides when the Wassenberg Camera Club meets at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April14, at the Wassenberg Art Center, 643 S. Washington Street, Van Wert, Ohio.

Probably Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter first come to mind when you think of seasons.  However, with a little more thought, you’ll discover there are actually quite a few other seasons that could apply.

In agriculture, consider the planting and harvesting seasons.  In athletics, ask any coach about what his team will do, or did, this season.  We talk about the holiday seasons such as Easter or Christmas.  Many hunters and fishermen look forward to the opening of the season on  a particular  species.

Parks and resorts anticipate the start of particular activities that occur at seasonal times of the year such as camping,  skiing, and tourism.  If you’ve been following the weather reports, you are aware that the tornado and hurricane seasons are approaching.
