15 arraigned, 1 sentenced in CP Court

A total of 15 people were arraigned in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court, while a Van Wert woman was sent to prison in a sentencing hearing held following arraignments.

Ashley Burk, 26, of Van Wert, was sentenced to 11 months in prison on a charge of aggravated possession of drugs, a felony of the fifth degree. Judge Martin Burchfield did not give Burk credit for any days served, but did note that, if she did what she was supposed to do while in prison, she could be eligible for judicial (early) release.

Those arraigned include the following:

Melissa Frasl, 34, of Delphos, entered a not guilty plea to one count of domestic violence, a felony of the fourth degree. Judge Burchfield set Frasl’s bond at $1,000 cash because she has been refusing to take medication to keep her mentally stable. Her husband spoke about the need to have her home, but had to be warned by the judge about the possibility of being charged with contempt of court if he continued to complain about his wife being held on bond.

Daniel Craig, entered not guilty pleas to one count each of possession of heroin and possession of cocaine, each a felony of the fifth degree. He was released on a personal surety bond and will appear for a pretrial conference at 8 a.m. Wednesday, April 29.

Jerad Caldwell, 28, of Van Wert, pleaded not guilty to one count each of trafficking in heroin and trafficking in a counterfeit controlled substance, each a fifth-degree felony. He was released on a surety bond and will appear for a pretrial conference at 8 a.m. April 29.

Jacquelyn Forthman, 26, of Venedocia, entered a not guilty plea to complicity to trafficking in heroin, a felony of the fifth degree. She was ordered held on a $2,500 cash bond, with a pretrial conference scheduled for 8 a.m. April 29.

Randal Michaelson Jr., 26, of Venedocia, pleaded not guilty to one count each of possession of heroin and trafficking in heron, both fifth-degree felonies, and one count of endangering children, a misdemeanor of the first degree. He was released on a personal surety bond and will appear for a pretrial conference at 8 a.m. Wednesday, April 22.

Jeremy Showalter, 31, of Van Wert, entered not guilty pleas to one count of operating a vehicle under the influence (fourth offense), a fourth-degree felony offense, and one count of driving under suspensions, a first-degree misdemeanor. He was released on a personal surety bond and will appear for a pretrial conference at 8 a.m. April 29.

Clark Roberts, 35, of Van Wert, pleaded not guilty to one count each of gross sexual imposition, a third-degree felony, and gross sexual imposition, a felony of the fourth degree. He was released on a surety bond, with the specification he have no contact with the alleged victim. Roberts will appear for a pretrial conference at 8 a.m. April 29.

Logan Miller, 19, of Middle Point, entered a not guilty plea to a charge of aggravated possession of drugs, a felony of the fifth degree. He was released on a surety bond, and will appear for a pretrial conference at 8 a.m. April 22.

Brandon Barnes, 33, of Van Wert, pleaded not guilty to two counts of possession of heroin, both felonies of the fifth degree. A surety bond was set in the case and a pretrial conference scheduled for 8 a.m. April 22.

Donald Carter Jr., 40, of Middle Point, entered not guilty pleas to two counts of interference with custody, both felonies of the fourth degree. He was released on a surety bond, with the added specification that he have no contact with the children involved or their mother. A pretrial conference was set for 8 a.m. April 22.

Bobby Burnett, 20, of Van Wert, pleaded not guilty to one count of burglary, a felony of the second degree. He was released on a surety bond, but ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim in the case. A pretrial conference was scheduled for 8 a.m. April 22.

Anthony Oliver, 20, of Van Wert, entered a not guilty plea to one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a felony of the fifth degree. No bond was set because Oliver was recently sentenced to prison in an unrelated case. A pretrial conference will occur at 8 a.m. April 22.

Gregory Foster, 39, of Van Wert, pleaded not guilty to one count of complicity to trafficking in heroin in the vicinity of a juvenile. He was released on a surety bond and will appear for a pretrial conference at 8 a.m. April 22.

Ryanne Doner, 34, of Van Wert, entered not guilty pleas to two counts of trafficking in heroin, both felonies of the fifth degree, and one count of trafficking in heroin in the vicinity of a juvenile, a fourth-degree felony. A specification was also included in the indictment stating she used a motor vehicle in the commission of one or more of the offenses. She was released on a surety bond and will appear for a pretrial conference at 8 a.m. April 22.

Brady Etzler, 25, of Van Wert, pleaded not guilty to a charge of aggravated trespass, a misdemeanor of the first degree. He was released on a surety bond and will appear for a pretrial conference at 8 a.m. April 22.
