Paul Ross
Paul Ross, 98, of Van Wert, died at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, May 3, 2015, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born February 23, 1917, in Van Wert. On July 22, 1938, he married his wife of 52 years, Ila (Inwood) Ross, who preceded him in death on November 24, 1990.
Survivors include four children, Ron (Paulette) Ross of New Haven, Indiana, Don (Arlys) Ross of Liberty Center, Audrey (Brad) Marbaugh of Van Wert and John (Sharon) Ross of Saranac, Michigan; 14 grandchildren, Clint (Cindy) Marbaugh of Ohio City, Ginny Marbaugh, Rex (Vicki) Marbaugh and Lisa Hundley, all of Van Wert, Lora (Patrick) Wissing of Mesa, Arizona, Jennifer (Kevin) Fenn and Patrick (Sarah) Ross, both of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Richard (Jenni) Ross of Harker Heights, Texas, Sara (Adam) Nelson of Chicago, Illinois, Rachel Smith of Coopersville, Michigan, Brandon (Jessamy) Ross of Utah, Amber (Russ) VanDerVellde of Saranac, Michigan, Alicia Ross of Maryland and Alex Ross of Holland, Michigan; and 29 great-grandchildren.
His mother, Vinnie Ross, and a great-grandchild also preceded him in death.
Paul retired from the former Continental Can Company in Van Wert after 43 years of service. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Van Wert, where he served as treasurer of the Hal Hunt Sunday School Class for many years. He was scoutmaster of Troop 31 at First Methodist for more than 20 years, was advisor of the former Wren Agricolae 4-H Club for 19 years, a life member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1320 in Van wert, was a member and served as treasurer of the United Mine Workers local at Continental Can and also served as treasurer of the former Convoy Grange.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials: Boy Scout Troop 31, Van Wert County 4-H or a charity of donor’s choice.
