Barbara K. Bashore, 85, of Pickerington, and formerly of Van Wert, died at 6:50 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus.

She was born March 29, 1930, in Van Wert County, the daughter of Lawrence and Edith (McClure) Kreischer, who both preceded her in death. She married Robert Bashore and Paul W. Bilderback, who both also preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son, Robert (Dawn) Bilderback of Pickerington; a stepdaughter, Rebecca (Steve) Bradley of Sanford, Florida; four brothers, Gerald (Dixie) Kreischer and Harold (Sherry) Kreischer, both of Ohio City, Max (Janet) Kreischer of Van Wert and Ronnie (Linda) Kreischer of Lexington; a brother-in-law, Bill (Rowena) Bashore of Paulding; two sisters, Marcile Pennell of Empire, Colorado, and Audrey (Bill) Campbell of Ridgecrest, California; a sister-in-law, Helen Kreischer of Van Wert; five grandchildren, Robb (Diana) Bilderback, Tony Bilderback, Amanda Bilderback, Renee (Nick) Taddeucci and Rick Bilderback; two stepgrandchildren, Robert and Amanda Heintzman; 10 great-grandchildren, Kaveynder and Hansen Bilderback, Derek, Marissa and Madison Wohlfiel, Emily Bilderback, Layne and Peyton Leonard, and Marco and Gianna Taddeucci; a friend and pet, Mitzi, her toy poodle; and several nieces and nephews.

Six brothers, Gaylord, Robert, Ralph, Floyd, James and Larry Kreischer, also preceded her in death.

Barbara was a secretary at the former Aeroquip Corporation (Eaton) in Van Wert and sold Avon products, winning many awards through the company. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Van Wert, a former member of St. Paul’s Reformed Church in Ohio City and the Van Wert Business & Professional Women; and was an avid NASCAR, Ohio State, Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Indians fan.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 10, First United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Gus Christo-Baker and Paul W. Miller officiating.

Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, May 9, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, and an hour prior to services Sunday at the church.

Preferred memorials: American Cancer Society or a charity of donor’s choice.
