CHP presenting seminar on forgiveness
Community Health Professionals Inc. will present a continuing education seminar on Friday, April 29, from 6-9 p.m. at Community Health Professionals, 1159 Westwood Drive in Van Wert.
The seminar features the Rev. Dr. Michael Barry, director of pastoral care at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Philadelphia, Pa., speaking about “Release — The Healing Power of Forgiveness.”

The free program is designed for nurses and health care professionals, but is open to the public. A total of 2.58 nursing contact continuing education hours are offered for this opportunity.
The Rev. Dr. Barry is the author of the book, The Forgiveness Project, which is the result of five years of reading, research, hands-on curriculum development and personal experience in working with cancer patients on forgiveness-related issues.
The objectives of this program are to define the connection between the inability to forgive, chronic stress and poor health outcomes. Participants will learn about unique tools for finding forgiveness, developing a lifestyle of forgiveness and determine why forgiveness can relieve stress, improve immune function, lower health risk, and increase personal quality of life.
It includes helpful hints, scientific research, and proven techniques for reducing anger and hatred. Beyond the science and therapy, however, is the belief that the simple act of prayer is an integral part of finding healing, peace and forgiveness.
For more information, or to pre-register, call Kathy Ulm at 419.238.9223. Walk-in registration begins at 5:30 the night of the seminar.
