Jean P. McClure

Jean P. McClure, 86, of Convoy, died at 10:15 p.m. Sunday, May 30, 2015, at Hearth & Home in Van Wert.

She was born August 24, 1928, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of John and Beatrice (Herringshaw) Albrecht, who both preceded her in death. On November 24, 1951, she married Glenn E. McClure, who survives in Convoy.

Other survivors include three children, John Roy (Marvelene) McClure, of New Holland, Pennsylvania, James Earl McClure of Van Wert and Catherine Linda McClure of Convoy; six grandchildren, Stephen McClure, Laurie McClure, Angela Horning, Kristin McClure, Kayla Herstad and Keri McClure; and five great-grandchildren, Caleb, Kaylee and David McClure and Davin and Foster Horning.

Two brothers, Leland Albright and Harry Albrecht, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. McClure drove a school bus for Crestview Local Schools and Thomas Edison Center, with more than 25 years of service, and worked on the family farm for many years.

She was a member of the former Union Center Church in rural Van Wert County and currently is a member of Convoy United Methodist Church. She is a past trustee and member of the church’s Ladies Aid Society of the former Union Center Church, and a member of the Ohio Flying Farmers Association.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 5, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Gregory Leigh officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy.

Calling hours are from 3:30-8 p.m. Thursday, June 4, at the funeral home.
