Ida Mae Couch

Ida Mae Couch of Zanesville died Sunday, June 7, 2015, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville.

She was born June 12, 19122, in Malheur County, Oregon, the daughter of Floyd J. and Goldeth (Johnston) Anderson, who both preceded her in death. On April 2, 1942, she married D. Curtis Couch Jr., who died in May 2002. A brother, Floyd J. Anderson, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Couch was involved as a partner in family businesses in Bryan and Van Wert, was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Van Wert, where she was a past president of the church’s Board of Deaconesses, sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. She was a member of the former Van Wert Woman’s Club and a past president of the group, a member of the Chautauqua and past president four times, a member of the Bryan Chapter, DES, and a life associate member of the First Armored Division Association.

Survivors include three sons, Ronald C. (Traci) Couch of Zanesville, James E. (Margie) Couch of Lancaster and Eric A. (Diane) Couch of Bronson, Michigan; seven grandchildren, Christina (Robert) Kovar, Tammy (Lee) Sidle, Jennifer Couch, David Couch, Katie Couch, Alisha Monroe and Matthew (Stacie) Couch; and 14-great-grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 13.

Arrangements were handled by Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert.
