Robert E. Cooper Jr.

Robert E. Cooper Jr., 67, of rural Van Wert, died at 5:30 a.m. Sunday, June 14, 2015, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

He was born January 26, 1948, in Van Wert, the son of Robert E. Cooper Sr. and Frances (Winhover) Cooper, who both preceded him in death. On January 29, 1972, he married Patricia Anne (Edsall) Cooper, who died October 1, 2012.

Survivors include two daughters, Tamera K. (Dean) Showalter of Haviland and Heather L. (Paul) Nahrwold of Fort Wayne; two sons, Christopher L. Cooper of Verona, Kentucky, and Robert E. (Brandy) Cooper III of Van Wert; a brother, Richard (Kathy) Cooper of Van Wert; two sisters, Patricia Felger and Jeanne J. Jemison, both of Van Wert; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A brother, David Cooper, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, June 19, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Scott Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery in rural Van Wert County.

Calling hours are from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. Thursday, June 18, at the funeral home.
