Weather woes

The storm that passed through Van Wert County Thursday evening did some local damage (a tree down in Wren above), and will also likely add to the flooding woes of low-lying areas of the county, such as Jennings Creek on the east and the Willshire area on the southwest (below, along Ohio 49). County Emergency Management Director Rick McCoy said that, while the St. Marys River was supposed to crest at 25.6 feet, the new rainfall would likely up that figure, possibly close to the modern-day record of 26.9 feet.
