James L. Baltzell

James L. Baltzell, 78, of Celina, and formerly of Rockford, died at 5:58 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, where he was a patient.

He was born March 21, 1937, in Elyria, the son of Floyd A. and Mabel Laura (Wurster) Baltzell, who both preceded him in death. On March 23, 1957, he married Shirley (Wilson) Baltzell, who survives in Celina.

Other survivors include three children, Tim and Eric Baltzell, both of Celina, and Tami (John) Conklin of Whitehouse; a granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; two brothers, Gary (Jean) Baltzell and Ned Baltzell, both of Rockford; and two sisters-in-law, Martha Baltzell of Rockford and Ruth Kay Baltzell of Findlay.

Two brothers, Fred and Wayne Baltzell; and a sister-in-law, Audrey Baltzell, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 13, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, with Pastor Bruce Strine officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.

Calling hours are from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, July 12, and an hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.
