New Schlotsky’s location opening soon

Schlotzsky’s®, home of The Original® oven-baked sandwich and famous Fresh-from-Scratch® buns, announces the opening of Van Wert’s first Lotz Better® location, attached to the Van Wert Party Mart at 1042 S. Washington St., on Thursday, July 23.

The Van Wert Schlotzsky’s location will kick off its grand opening at 10 a.m. July 23 with a day of fun-filled events, including a prize wheel, Schlotzsky’s giveaways and more. Plus, the new Schlotzsky’s location will reward the first 100 guests who purchase a CinnaPack® of six Cinnabon® Classic rolls with one free small The Original sandwich per week for a year*.

A ribboncutting ceremony will be held at 8 a.m. the day prior to the opening: Wednesday, July 22. All attendees are invited to enjoy a complimentary breakfast after the ceremony.

“With our addictive recipes, upbeat surroundings and funny sayings, we’re adding tremendous flavor to the Van Wert fast-casual dining scene,” said Janel Kruse, co-owner of Van Wert’s new Schlotzsky’s location. “It’s hard not to smile when you walk into our bright new restaurant, smell the bread baking and see how much fun we have with ‘bun humor.’ The local community is in for a real treat.”

Built with Schlotzsky’s rebranding efforts in mind, the restaurant is co-branded with a Cinnabon® bakery. In addition, everything from tables and chairs to circular-themed local photography — featuring tongue-in-cheek phrases — is designed to entertain and cater to the guest.

At the new Schlotzsky’s location, guests can also select from more than 100 regular and low-calorie beverage brands with the new touch-screen Coca-Cola Freestyle® soda fountain. The fountain offers more than 70 diet or low-calorie and 90 caffeine-free beverages, 80-plus unique brands, and many varieties of waters, sports drinks, lemonades and sparkling beverages.

Schlotzsky’s offers more than 15 different signature sandwiches served on its legendary Fresh-from-Scratch oven-baked sourdough buns, as well as gourmet pizzas built upon its unique sourdough crust, artisan flatbreads, freshly made-to-order tossed salads, a variety of savory soups and delectable desserts, including a Cinnabon Express bakery where guests can enjoy a number of warm, delicious treats from Cinnabon, including the Cinnabon Classic Roll and CinnaPack take-home packs. The Van Wert Schlotzsky’s location will also feature the new Route 66 menu this summer, which includes three sandwiches and wraps inspired by pit stops along the Main Street of America. From lunch boxes to party trays, catering options are available for meetings, community events, family gatherings and more — all prepared with Schlotzsky’s favorites.

Additionally, the Van Wert restaurant will also offer a new breakfast menu until 11 a.m. daily, including breakfast sandwiches, omelet wraps, oatmeal and yogurt with fresh toppings, muffins, scones and coffee.
