Assemblies and Testing

By Madison Preston

On Thursday April 21,  classes at Crestview will be shortened due to the return of “Attaboy” and a new arrival, “News from Verona”. “Attaboy” was a big hit as the music group appeared here another time sharing their gift of music, enthusiasm they brought to the crowd, and touching story that taught students a valuable lesson. Student always have a great time listening to popular songs the bands have added their unique twist to, and their personal songs that give an understanding of their lives.

The Jr. High students have began preparing for the OAA testing. Teacher Mr. Hotmire says “I hope that they take the test seriously and know the test is important because it measures what the state sees, what we have been teaching and what they have been learning. I want them to score well and ultimately show the hard work we have been putting in here.”

Jr. High student Mackenzie Riggenbach (eighth grade) says they have begun their preparation by “taking old achievement tests”. She also believes that “this is a very big test on how you have made progress throughout the year.”

In elementary news the third through sixth grade have also been preparing for their Ohio Achievement tests. There will be an academic assembly held on Monday April 25 for said grades. Principal Kathy Mollenkoph states that “the assembly is to tell the kids the importance of the tests, and that they do their very best on them.”
