When Pigs Fly

During the ninth annual Van Wert Rib Fest this past weekend, United Way of Van Wert County held its “When Pigs Fly” event. Board members Jessica Hardesty and Kirk Lichtensteiger (shown above with United Way Board member Marie Bennett (holding daughter dropped 500 plastic pigs over the fairgrounds, with the help of Ron Dull’s Star Rental lift and Kyle Gehres and Troy Oechsle of the Van Wert Fair Board. The 2015 first place winner is Anita Smith, who won $500, while coming in second and winning $100 was Tom Gibson of Gibson’s Barnyard BBQ.
