Lancer girls set record in winning tourney

The Lincolnview girls’ golf team hosted the Lancer Invitational at the Par-72 Hickory Sticks Golf Club in Van Wert on Monday. After a storm went through in the morning, the defending champions repeated again in record fashion.

The Lady Lancers tallied an impressive team score of 369, which shattered last year’s team score of 385.  All five members of this year’s team are returning participants from last year’s team.

Match medalist honors went to Celina’s Haley McGillvary, who posted a fine score of 86 (42-44), while her teammate, Kelly Stahl, recorded a score of 87 (41-46) for runner-up medalist honors.

The top 10 players included McGillvary and Stahl, Tori Vaughn (90) of Fort Recovery, McKenzie Davis (91) of Lincolnview, Makenzie Kraft (91) of Lincolnview, Gracie Gudakunst (92) of Wayne Trace, Macala Ashbaugh (92) of Lincolnview, Rachel Gerken (93) of Defiance, Trisha Thien (94) of Fort Recovery, Brooke Sinn (95) of Wayne Trace and Marissa Miller (95) of Lincolnview.

Team Scores

Lincolnview 369, Wayne Trace 399, Fort Recovery 400, Marion Local 402, Antwerp 443, Parkway 459, Celina 472, Coldwater 489 and three teams Defiance, Hicksville, and Fairview each had three individuals participate.
