Lancer girl golfers win tourney team title

DEFIANCE — The lady linksters of Lincolnview traveled to Bulldog country to take on seven other schools for the Division II Defiance Invitational Championship, which was held at Eagle Rock Golf Course.
The Lancers edged out the Wayne Trace Lady Raiders by three shots to claim the team championship. Division I teams consisted of big schools from the Sylvania, Anthony Wayne and Toledo area. With all teams included, the Lancers finished in fourth place.
Leading the Lancers in scoring was Makenzie Kraft, who edged out teammate Macala Ashbaugh by one shot, 100-101. McKenzie Davis followed with a score of 106, Marissa Miller tallied a score of 120 and Madison Shepherd recorded a score of 131.
Wayne Trace’s leadoff golfer, Gracie Gudakunst, tallied a 101, with Brooke Sinn having a 109. Gabby Wiseman tallied a 107, with Haley Dempsey shooting a 113. Klinker followed with a 139.
Division II team scores: Lincolnview 427, Wayne Trace 430, Tinora 448, Elmwood 484, Defiance 488, Rossford 494, Ayersville 563, and Celina.
Division I team scores: Northview 363, Anthony Wayne 381, Wapakoneta 416, Lima Shawnee 447.
In Division II, medalist honors went to Gabbi Keller of Tinora, who shot an 88. Alexis Miller was runner-up medalist with a 95.
In Division I, medalist honors went to Ashley Knight, who shot an outstanding round of 75.
The Lancers will travel to Waynesfield-Goshen on Monday, August 17, to participate in the Invitational held at the Prairie View Golf Course.
