Alice A. (Felger) Hoblet

Alice A. (Felger) Hoblet, 82, of Van Wert, passed away at 11:27 a.m. Thursday, August 13, 2015, at her residence.

She was born August 15, 1932, in Toorington, Wyoming, a daughter of Rumaldo and Manuala (Deleon) Chavarria, who both preceded her in death. She was first married to Roger Felger, and then to Donald Hoblet, and both of them are also deceased.

She is survived by seven daughters, Nita (Roger) Finger of Van Wert, Connie (Dick) Elder of Van Wert, Kathy (LeRoy) Samra of Marco Island, Florida, Angie (Steve) Dietrich of Rockford, Rose (Mike) Elston of Middle Point, Cindy (Pablo) Rivera of Convoy and Alice (Sam) Laurent of Van Wert; a son, Roger (Julie) Felger Jr. of Columbus; one stepdaughter, Pam (Jim) McIntosh of Chicago, Illinois; two stepsons, Thomas (Raellen) Hoblet and Floyd Hoblet, both of Van Wert; a sister, Josephine Felger; one brother, Rumaldo Chavarria; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several stepgrandchildren.

One granddaughter and two great-grandsons also preceded her in death.

She had been a factory employee and later had been employed as a healthcare worker in nursing homes for many years. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert and its Altar Rosary Society.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 17, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, with Father Stan Szybka officiating. Burial will follow in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy.

Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-7:30 p.m. Sunday, August 16, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, where a parish rosary service will be held at 7:30 that evening.

Preferred memorials: St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church or Community Health Professionals-Hospice in Van Wert.
