Groups to host fundraiser at Wassenberg

On Saturday, August 22, Wassenberg Art Center on South Washington Street will be host to a community event open to all.

Celebrate Recovery of Van Wert, along with YouthNet, is hosting this fun, encouraging event with lots going on.  At 5 p.m., free food and games start. Hamburgers, hotdogs and chips will be served and there will be plenty of cornhole, 9 Square and Hillbilly Golf, along with face painting and games for youngsters.  At 7 p.m., a concert by Doug Hallock, ex-heroin addict and a talented musician, will perform songs he’s written and produced with his band in Tennessee. Hallock provides a message of hope and freedom as he talks about where he’s come from and how he’s managed to “stay on the path”.
