VWCS to award 4 construction bids

The Van Wert City Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 7:30 a.m. Monday, April 25, with the goal of awarding contracts for four of the five construction packages included in the grades 1-5 elementary school project.

Superintendent Ken Amstutz noted that the core construction team met Friday and recommended that four bid packages – electrical, HVAC, plumbing and fire suppression – be awarded during that meeting. Plans are to award the general trades portion of the project, which was rebid and those bids opened April 19, sometime during the first week of May.

The earlier projected completion date of July 2012 should still be valid, school and construction officials have said.
