Knight CC teams do well at CG meet

Crestview cross country information

COLUMBUS GROVE — The Crestview boys’ cross country team displayed a large amount of improvement in its race at Columbus Grove on Saturday.

A total of 12 out of 14 competitors for Crestview recorded personal record times for the 5-K race. The Knights were led by senior Adam Saylor, who raced to a time of 17:18 (17th place).  He was followed by teammates Caleb Bagley (44th), Cody Mefferd (58th), Jordan Perrott (67th), and Andrew Boley (79th).

The team placed 11th out of 22 teams and will race this coming Saturday at the Tiffin Cross Country Carnival.

The Crestview girls’ cross country team also showed improvements, led by Ashley Bowen, who finished 10th in a personal record time of 19:58. This places Bowen as the fifth fastest female runner on Crestview’s all-time top 20 list.  She was followed by teammates Brooke Ripley, Meghan Sherman, Matteson Watts, and Emma Saylor. The team recorded a 12th place finish out of 18 schools.  The girls will also race at the Tiffin CC Carnival this coming Saturday.

The Crestview junior varsity boys placed 10th out of 16 teams in their race.  Gabe Smith lowered his personal record time by a significant amount in racing to a seventh place finish in a time of 18:36.
