VWHS students have good AP test results
Van Wert High School information
Seven students at Van Wert High School have been recognized by the College Board because of their exceptional achievement on the Advanced Placement (AP) exams during the 2014-15 school year.
Tyler Ruger, son of Eugene and Tracy Ruger, received the AP Scholar with Honor Award, which recognizes a student who received scores of 3.25 or higher on four or more AP exams.
Six students received the AP Scholar Award, which is granted to students who have received scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams. Those students are Rebecca Anderson, daughter of Drew and Julie Anderson; Lydia Burley, daughter of Kay Burley; Alea Hill, daughter of Brian and Crystal Hill; Daniel Perry, son of Brent and Myrna Hamrick and the late Doug Perry; Arin Smith, daughter of Michael and Tammy Smith; Eric Yeung, son of Kei shing and Stephanie Yeung.
The Advanced Placement Program at Van Wert High School offers students the opportunity to take challenging college level courses while still in high school. Van Wert High School offers six Advanced Placement courses, including chemistry, English language, English literature, calculus, psychology and government.
A total of 98 Advanced Placement tests were given at Van Wert High School during the May 2015 testing period.
