Cougar v-ball team loses to Ottoville

The Van Wert varsity volleyball team lost to Ottoville in five sets: 25-17, 24-26, 18-25, 25-13 and 12-15. For Van Wert, Peyton Fleming was 21 for 21 serving, with three aces; Megan Spray was 20 for 20 serving; and Landrie Koontz was 17 for 17 from the service line.

Spray was 101-105 setting, with 18 assists, while Fleming led the team in hitting with 14 kills and Ella Butler added 10.

Both Fleming and Butler also had four blocks each, and Koontz contributed eight digs.

Van Wert is now 1-5 on the season.

The Van Wert junior varsity team defeated Ottoville in two sets to go to 4-2 on the season.

The Van Wert varsity and JVs will next be in action today as they travel to Ottawa-Glandorf for a Western Buckeye League match-up.
