VW County Republican information

Results of a straw poll conducted at the Van Wert County Republicans booth at this year’s Van Wert County Fair have been released. Poll results are as follows:

1. Donald Trump, 136 votes (32.2 percent); 2. Ben Carson, 116 votes (27.4 percent); 3. Ted Cruz, 36 votes (8.5 percent); 4. John Kasich, 33 votes (7.8 percent); 5. Jeb Bush, 22 votes (5.2 percent); 6. Carly Fiorina, 18 votes (4.3 percent); 7. Marc Rubio, 16 votes (3.8 percent); 8. (tie) Mike Huckabee and Rand Paul, 14 votes (3.3 percent); 10. Scott Walker, 10 votes (2.4 percent); 11. Chris Christie, 3 votes (0.7 percent).

A total of 423 votes were cast in the straw poll taken over fair week.
