LeRoy J. Kiehl

LeRoy J. Kiehl, 92, of Ohio City, died at 4:10 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2011, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.

He was born October 6, 1918, in Harrison Township, Van Wert County, the son of the late Theodore J. and Eleanora (Feldner) Kiehl. On November 29, 1939, he married Ireta Louise (Elder) Kiehl, who preceded him in death on January 10, 1994.

Survivors include a son, Michael L. Kiehl of St. Marys; one daughter, Sharon A. (Thomas C.) Witten of Van Wert; a brother, Herbert T. (Donna) Kiehl of Grover Hill; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Gloria Voltz of Ohio City and Helen Kiehl of Van Wert.

A  brother, Gerald Eugene Kiehl; one great-grandson, William Ned Compton; and a longtime friend, Iris Stevick, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Ron Fruth officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Monday, April 25, at the funeral home.
