Cougar v-ball team loses to Coldwater

The Van Wert varsity volleyball team lost to a very good Coldwater team in three sets: 7-25, 10-25 and 10-25.

For the Lady Cougars, Ella Butler was 10 for 11 serving with two aces, Megan Spray was 50-52 setting with 14 assists, while Butler led the team with five kills and Peyton Fleming added four.

Van Wert’s varsity squad is now 1-7 on the season.

The Cougar junior varsity team also lost to Coldwater in three sets to go to 4-4 on the season.

The Van Wert varsity and JV teams will next be in action Thursday when Van Wert hosts fellow Western Buckeye League school Shawnee.
