VWHS teacher earns education award

Van Wert High School teacher Chuck Rollins, who teaches the school’s Biomedical Science program, has been named as the September “Excellence in Education” Award winner by WISE-TV (NBC-Channel 33) in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Rollins was nominated for this award “for being an exceptional teacher in the classroom, being there for students outside of class, and his selfless commitment to Van Wert High School.”

“Chuck is so very deserving of this award,” said VWHS Principal Bob Priest. “He is always there to help and he makes so many sacrifices for others, and does so without wanting any attention. There’s no doubt that his actions exemplify Cougar Pride!”

A filmed interview with Rollins conducted by the television station will be aired on Channel 33 at 4 p.m. today (Thursday, September 17).
