Auditor announces county appraisal visits

Sometime before this coming January, a photography team from the Van Wert County Auditor’s office will visit county properties to take updated photos of all structures. Property owners need not be present for this to be accomplished, Van Wert County Auditor Nancy Dixon noted, adding that her office is making sure county residents are aware of this happing so they are not alarmed.

Photography teams will consist of two people wearing bright yellow vests and identification badges. Their vehicles will also be identified with signs saying “County Appraiser” on both the driver’s and passenger’s sides of the vehicle.

A member of the team assigned to an area will come to a person’s front door to identify themselves and let residents know the reason for their visit. Property owners who have dogs and are home during the visit are asked to restrain the dogs while the team is on the property.
