Richard W. Crider

Richard W. Crider, 69, of Van Wert, died at 5:38 p.m. Friday, October 16, 2015, at Lima Memorial Hospital.

He was born August 11, 1946, in Lima, the son of William “Bill” and Jessie (Nelson) Crider, who both preceded him in death.

Survivors include two sons, Ethan (Michelle) Crider of Suffolk, Virginia, and Bill (Diane) Crider of Orangeburg, Missouri; three grandchildren, Estella Crider of Suffolk, Virginia, and Courtney and Nicholas Crider of Orangeburg, Missouri; and five siblings, David (Judy) Crider of Mendon, Carol (Willis) Watts of Marion, Linda Burden of Venedocia, Peg (Rick) Hesse of Mendon, and Bob (Deb) Crider of Mendon.

A sister, Sally Crider, also preceded him in death.

Richard was the owner and operator of Crider Electrical Service in Van Wert for many years. He also was a longtime member of the Van Wert Lions Club, spending many hours of his time working on the various club projects.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 24, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Robert Reidenbach officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Wright Cemetery in Converse.

Calling hours are from noon until the time of services Saturday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: Van Wert Lions Club.
