Betty Jo Gable

Betty Jo Gable, 76, of Celina and formerly of Rockford and Scottsdale, Arizona, did Sunday afternoon, October 18, 2015, at her residence.

She was born March 2, 1939, in Delaware County, Indiana, the daughter of Walter and Essie (Gribble) Hickman, who both preceded her in death. On June 7, 1959, she married Carl “Gene” Gable, who died December 8, 1989.

Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer (George) Bruggeman of Celina; a granddaughter; one brother-in-law, Max (Wanda) Gable of Muncie, Indiana; five nephews and a niece.

Her stepfather, Dwight Keopple; a daughter, Jeanne A. Gilman; and two sisters, Helen Hickman and Dorothy Cline, also preceded her in death.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, October 23, at Riverside Cemetery in Rockford, with Casey Nuttle officiating.

Calling hours are from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, October 22, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford.
