Open house set for Red Cross director

American Red Cross volunteers at Van Wert County Hospital are hosting an open house for Derek Stemen, new executive director for the West Central Ohio Chapter of the American Red Cross.

The reception is Wednesday, October 28, in Conference Room A at the hospital. The event will begin at 4 p.m., with the first hour for Red Cross volunteers to meet Stemen.

At 5 p.m., the community is invited to attend at the same location to learn more about the organization’s new leader.

Stemen will introduce himself and answer any questions the public may have regarding the Red Cross in Van Wert and the region. Red Cross community leaders will also explain their roles in the community.
