Alma Marguerite Miller

Alma Marguerite “Marge” Miller, 98, of Rockford, died at 4:30 a.m. Monday, December 7, 2015.

She was born April 16, 1917, in Adams County, Indiana, the daughter of Lewis P. and Jessie (Butcher) Wendel, who both preceded her in death. On November 25, 1937, she married Lester Frederick Miller, who died March 5, 2011.

Survivors include a son, Rollie (Fran) Miller of Rockford; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A son, Larry Miller; two brothers, James and Bob Wendel; two sisters, Pauline Brudi and Genevieve Cecka; and a granddaughter, Kelli Miller Hicks, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 12, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ near Rockford, with Pastor Catherine Costello officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Calling hours are from 4-6 p.m. Friday, December 11, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
