Sigrid Ehmer

Sigrid Ehmer, 74, of Van Wert, died at 4 a.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at Mayfair Village Nursing Care Center in Columbus.

She was born November 7, 1941, in East Prussia, Germany, the daughter of Emil and Emmi (Achenbach) Kuknat, who both preceded her in death. On May 6, 1961, she married Louis J. Ehmer, who died October 15, 2015.

Survivors include a son, Eric L. Ehmer of Columbus; one daughter, Laura S. (Jason) Riley of Georgetown, Kentucky; two grandchildren; and a close friend, Brenda Marbaugh.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, December 11, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Mike Saylor officiating. Burial will be in Redeemer Lutheran Cemetery south of Convoy.

Calling hours are from 11 a.m. until the time of services Friday at the funeral home.
