Pak-A-Sak robber among those arraigned

Five people were arraigned and two others appeared for hearings in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court on Wednesday.
Those arraigned include a Paulding man charged with aggravated robbery for allegedly robbing the north Pak-A-Sak convenience store on November 14.
John J. Gosnell, 26, entered a not guilty plea to one count of aggravated robbery, a felony of the first degree, in front of Magistrate Joseph Quatman. The charge includes a specification that a firearm was used in commission of the crime, which adds a mandatory three-year prison term on top of any other sentence Gosnell would receive.
Gosnell, who is also facing similar charges in other counties for robberies there, was ordered held on a $100,000 cash bond and will appear for a pretrial conference at 8 a.m. Wednesday, December 16.
Others arraigned include the following:
Tye Harris, 28, of Decatur, Indiana, pleaded not guilty to a charge of tampering with evidence, a felony of the third degree. He was released on a personal surety bond and will appear for a pretrial conference at 8 a.m. December 16.
Nicholas Krick, 28, of Decatur, entered a not guilty plea to one count of failure to comply with the order of a police officer (fleeing and eluding), a felony of the third degree. He was released on a surety bond and a pretrial conference scheduled for 8 a.m. December 16.
Brandon Potter, 30, of Van Wert, pleaded not guilty to one count of burglary, a felony of the fourth degree. He was released on a surety bond and will appear for a pretrial conference at 8 a.m. December 16.
Taylor Baker, 24, of Van Wert, entered a not guilty plea to a charge of domestic violence, a felony of the third degree. A pretrial conference in the case was scheduled for 8 a.m. December 16.
Also appearing before County Probate-Juvenile Judge Kevin Taylor were the following:
Richard Schneider, 29, of Fort Jennings, admitted to violating his probation by being convicted of drunk driving and child endangering in Lima, and by possessing a controlled substance. He was sentenced to nine months in prison, with credit for 131 days already served.
Kaury Thiebaut, 26, of Van Wert, was granted early release from prison and placed on three years of community control. The remainder of his two-year prison term was deferred, pending his successful completion of community control.
