K. Louise Mefferd

K. Louise Mefferd, 86, of Van Wert, died Friday, December 11, 2015, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.

She was born October 31, 1929, in Van Wert County, the daughter of Enos and Sarah (Mason) Wilson, who both preceded her in death. She was married to her husband, Don Mefferd, who survives her in Van Wert, for 68 years.

She was a homemaker, but worked at different times and various part-time jobs. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Van Wert, where she taught Sunday School and Bible School in her younger years. She also served on several committees when she was able. She belonged to the 60-plus Adventure Group and Seekers Class, and loved everyone in those groups. She enjoyed all of the neighbors who were so helpful during snow removal, lawn mowing, storm repair, and when she was sick. She loved her family, gardening, reading, and cooking.

In addition to her husband, survivors include four children, Allen Mefferd of Van Wert, Mike (Becky) Mefferd of Rockford, Jane (Steve) Blevins of New Haven, Indiana, and Lisa (Brian) Wisener of Middle Point; 11 grandchildren, Mike, Robby (Erica), Kate (Mike), Jonathan, Angela, Sam, Sawyer, Torrey, Tia, Jaime, and Mark; six great-grandchildren, Lucas, Grant, Courtney, Sebastian, Joshua, and Franky; a stepgrandchild, Tressa; and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Shay and Seth.

An infant son, Jeff Mefferd; and an infant great-granddaughter, Quincy; three sisters, Helen Sanderson, Patty Muhn, and Eunice Savio; and brothers, Guy, Amos, and Alvin Wilson, also preceded her in death.

She is loved, and will be missed, by everyone who knew her.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 19, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert.

Calling hours are from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: The Salvation Army or Wesley United Methodist Church.
