CHP volunteers making handbags

Volunteer Appreciation was held on April 20 at Community Health Professionals to celebrate National Volunteer Week. Forty volunteers attended and received pins and angels. CHP volunteers help care for hospice and adult day care clients, answer phones at the inpatient hospice center, do clerical work, assist with fundraising activities, label medical items, and assist with many other duties. Recently, a group of volunteers has begun sewing one-of-a-kind handbags from upholstery fabrics. Additional volunteers are welcome to lend their time and talents to design and sew handbags for this project. Proceeds from the handbags will benefit CHP's Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center. Here, CHP volunteers Jan Waters (left) and Stacie Ford sort through upholstery fabrics that will be sewn into handbags. To learn more about becoming a volunteer, contact Robin Waters at Community Health Professionals at 419.238.9223. (CHP photo)
