Valentines for Vets

Buckeye Y Youth Inc. hosted Valentines for Vets on Monday, February 8, at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803 in Van Wert. The group made Valentines and colored bookmarks to be sent to the Veterans in nursing homes or Veterans Administration hospitals. The VFW Auxiliary distributed awards to the children for “Random Acts of Patriotism”. The color guard presented the colors and led the group in the “Pledge of Allegiance”. A “Valentines for Vets” cake and other refreshments were served to those attending. Buckeye Y Youth is a United Way agency and grant recipient from the Van Wert County Foundation. (photo submitted)
