Lady Lancers lose to Rangers in sectionals

HARROD —  The Lincolnview Lady Lancers ended their season in the first round of the Division IV sectional tournament, losing to New Knoxville 64-36 on Wednesday.

The Lady Rangers took an 11-4 lead after eight minutes of play and were up by 17 points, 38-21, at the half. It was 51-25 at the end of the third quarter.

Katlyn Wendel led the Lancers with 17 points, while Ashton Bowersock scored 7 for Lincolnview.

New Knoxville had three players in double figures, led by Rachel Lefel’s 18 points. Kenzie Schroer added 17 points, Jenna Schwieterman added 11 points, while Abby Lageman had 9 points for the Lady Rangers.

The Lancers were 15 of 38 (39 percent) from field goal range, and made 4 of 12 three-point attempts (33.3 percent). The Lancers were 2 of 5 (40 percent) at the free-throw line.

New Knoxville made 26 of 44 field goal attempts (59 percent), including 4 of 14 from three-point range (28 percent). The Lady Rangers were 8 of 13 (61 percent) from the charity stripe.
