Umpires Association to hold classes

The Midwest Buckeye Baseball Umpires Association (Van Wert) will be holding instructional classes for those interested in umpiring high school baseball games. Classes begin on February 7 and will be held every Monday at 6 p.m. at Van Wert High School until the conclusion of the course on March 28.  Cost of the class is $110, which includes rulebooks provided by the Ohio High School Athletic Association, as well as local and state association dues for the 2011 season.

Instructors for the class will be Ryan Thompson (top graduate of the 2005 Harry Wendelestedt MLB Umpire School), Ron Golemon (OHSAA umpire who has worked 17 regional and seven state tournaments), and guest instructor Randy Bachman (Big Ten Conference umpire and 2007 member of the OHSAA Officials Hall of Fame).
