Irene A. Kill

Irene A. Kill, 101, of Delphos, died Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Delphos.

She was born January 29, 1915, in Putnam County, the daughter of George A. and Elizabeth (Hoffman) Martin, who both preceded her in death. On May 27, 1933, she married Linus J. Kill, who died November 24, 1994.

Survivors include three daughters, Janice Mace of Van Wert, Patricia (John) Wellman of Delphos, and Mary Lou (Ed) Paxton of Venedocia; a son, Daniel M. (Robin) Kill of Delphos; two sisters, Leona (Bill) Adams of Grover Hill, and Helen Cross of Delphos; 15 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and two sisters-in-law, Alma Dampf of California and LaDonna (Virgil) Birgen of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Two sons, Joseph Kill (in infancy) and Jerald A. Kill; a brother, Albert Martin; six sisters, Frances Kroeger, Eleanora Grothouse, Catherine Miller, Marie Etzkorn, Viola Studenka, and Jane Young; a son-in-law, Russell W. Mace; and two great-grandsons, Chandler Layton and Aaron McBride.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 28, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Landeck, with Father George Mahas officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, March 27, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, where a parish wake will be held at 7:30 that evening.

Preferred memorials: St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Parish Foundation in Delphos or St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Landeck Bell Fund/church repairs.
