3 criminal cases heard in County CP Court

It was a light day in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court on Wednesday, with just three criminal hearings held during the day.
Judge Martin Burchfield presided over a hearing for Danny Ruiz, 41, of Van Wert, who had his bond modified so include the stipulation that he have no contact with the alleged victim in his case.
Probate-Juvenile Court Judge Kevin Taylor also heard two probation violation hearings on Wednesday.
Josh Lane, 30, of Van Wert, admitted to violating his probation in two previous cases by not reporting to probation and by not obtaining an evaluation at Westwood Behavioral Health Center. He was sentenced to 10 months in prison on one case and 24 months in prison on the second case, to be served concurrently, and was given credit for 294 days already served.
Ronald Cobb, 25, of Van Wert, admitted to violating his probation by being convicted of another offense. He was sentenced to 12 months in prison, with credit for 61 days already served.
