Ohio City kicks off summer music series

VW independent/submitted information

OHIO CITY — The village of Ohio City kicks off its 2016 “Arts in the Park” music series on Friday, May 13. The concert, which features The Adam Andrews Blues Band, is sponsored by Cooper Farms.

This band is alive. Band members own the stage and deliver passion to the audience. Their array of original tunes is born from life experiences and events. The Adam Andrews Blues Band’s stomping ground is northwest Ohio and northeast Indiana and is ever expanding.

The band’s goal is to bring into existence blues music that has been missing from everybody’s palate up to this point. There has been a void and this band aims to fill it.

“When they find our music, we want blues fans to experience the feeling of finally finding what they’ve been looking and waiting for, for a long time,” Andrews said. “I’ve been on that journey myself — combing used CD stores for some amazingly awesome find in a blues band; surprisingly great; new yet familiar to the soul; timeless songs that today are rare to find.

“So I set out on a journey to write those songs that have been missing,” he added. “We strive to bring to life songs that seem so familiar it’s like you’ve heard them before, yet you know you haven’t because they are so good you would certainly have remembered them.”

The village of Ohio City and the Memorial Park Fund will be providing entertainment every second Friday of the month this summer: May 13, June 10, July 8, August 12, and September 9. Light concessions are available and personal beverages are welcome. All information can be found on the village website: www.villageofohiocity.org or on the village’s Facebook page.
