4th annual VW City 5K Run coming soon

The fourth annual Van Wert City Run is just three weeks away on Saturday, June 4.  Area runners are invited to participate in this event by completing registration forms that can picked up at fitness centers, the Convention and Visitors Bureau office or downloaded from their website at www.visitvanwert.org/documents/20115KEntryForm.pdf or from the Parks Department website at www.vanwert.org/parkevents/5k%20Run%20Form.pdf.

This year’s run takes place at Smiley Park, with registration beginning at 6:30 a.m.  The event will consist of a 5K Run starting at 8 a.m., followed at 8:30 a.m. by a 2K Family Fun Run/Walk sponsored by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.

Advanced registration fee is $18, which will include a tech-shirt, or $10 without a shirt. Race day registrations will be accepted with a fee of $15 and no guarantee of a shirt, although some of various sizes will be available for sale. Participants in the 2K will pay a $1 entry fee.

In addition to Thrivent Financial, other sponsors for this year run include Iberdrola Renewables, the Shelley Company, Pepsi Americas, the Van Wert Parks Department, and Rick Sealscott, CPA.
