Mary Alberta Reichert
Mary Alberta “Bert” Reichert, 87, of Van Wert, passed away at 1:29 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born August 30, 1928, in Coldwater, the daughter of J. Albert and Leona (Birkmeyer) Volz, who both preceded her in death. She married Daniel J. Reichert, who died in 1994.
Survivors include a son, Joseph (Jo) Reichert of Wren; one daughter, Rebecca “Becky” (David) Martz of Middle Point; a sister, Margie Hoenie of Lakeview; one brother, Joe Volz of Bellvue, Washington; eight grandchildren, Josh Reichert, Luke Reichert, Zach Reichert, Lachelle Clifton, Lance Dasher, Danielle Dasher, Elijah Martz, and Taylor Reichert; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A son, Richard J. Reichert; and two brothers, Jim and Jack Volz, also preceded her in death.
Mary had been employed for a time at Balyeat’s Coffee Shop and Kennedy Manufacturing Company, both in Van Wert, and had also owned the Whistle Stop restaurant in Middle Point. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 178 and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Unit 5803, both in Van Wert.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 13, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Father Stanley Szybka officiating. Burial will be at a later date in St. Anthony.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. until the time of services Saturday at the funeral home.
