Free items available from Photography Club

By Rex Dolby

Only three Van Wert Area Photography Club members participated in the work night on Thursday, Aug. 11, at 114 S. Race Street.  However, the trio was successful in clearing all club items from the kitchen and dining room, removed the darkroom equipment from upstairs, and reduced the footprint on the front porch to an area about 18 inches by 6 feet, which also included a stash of empty boxes to be filled in the future.

Officers have decided that the porch items will be donated to anyone wishing to come and get them by calling 419.238.4545 to determine a time.  This applies to a four-drawer steel filing cabinet, an enlarger, a copy stand and a laminator.  The club also has accumulated a large number of slides on a variety of subjects that it would offer to any person or group interested in them.  Many slides are still in their original containers or trays.

Club members are reminded that with the fair approaching, there is much work to be done for the photography exhibit.  Five or more members will be needed to take in pictures Sunday, Aug. 28, between 1-5 p.m. and arrange the photos for judging.  It will take five more to assist the judge by recording his decisions and placing ribbons on the winning pictures on Monday, Aug. 29, starting at 6 p.m. We will need to host the show during the fair and tear down on Tuesday, Sept. 6, starting at noon.
