Elmer Wellman

Elmer “Andy” Wellman, 84, of Delphos, died at 3:05 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2011, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Delphos.

He was born May 21, 1925, in Delphos, the son of the late John J. and Irene A. (Ricker) Wellman. On July 15, 1951, he married Phyllis A. Wellman, who preceded him in death on June 21, 2009.

Survivors include two sons, Jim (Jean Ditto) Wellman of Delphos and Lt. Colonel Mark Wellman of New York; a daughter, Pat (Ron) Klaus of Delphos; two brothers, Frank Wellman of Lima and John (Patsy) Wellman of Delphos; one sister, Joan (Jim) Weger of Delphos; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A sister, Sister Mary Johnene (Rita) SD, also preceded him in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, May 16, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos, with Father Melvin Verhoff officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Delphos.

Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, May 15, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos.
